Lots of people thinks they know. But anyone who does know either doesn't shop here or doesn't need to shop here . Sure they pray we will go out of business but we are not worried . Such people could do us out of business if they had their way . They would do harry potter and lots of great youth filmmakers out of business too if the audience was aware of how its being hidden here and there and everywhere . Despite the confusion, we have no worries about a widespread discovery ever happening .After all , prominent people and parties play the game

Sticks and stones will keep bears at bay , but nonone advertises that they are great things to use to create an effective defense dialogue, because you don't have to buy them from us.

We would go out of business if people used their heads rather than let us lead them .People don't need head protection .....they need to use their heads.
So much government expenditure would be completely unecessary if people realized they should use their heads .
The decline in demand for head protection didn't come from those in power who keep there power by solving ( or appearing to solve ) problems that, if the people thought about it , they could solve much more quickly and efficiently.

The government have been so busy spending our money giving warnings about wars that they don't even know what people should wear anyway ( People around Marysville in February 2009 weren't told that even a space suit would NOT stop them from dying if the sacred forest next to them caught alight on a hot summers day.

Grist magazine does a great job of trying to put a positive side to the draconian world view put by the press and partisans on conservation.Not us

Point is the popular scenarios for change are not working and there is something deeply wrong with the new doctrine of the original sin of being. Its deeply distressing and the people are find ways to distract themselves from doing anything about the real issues needing change.

And of course coffee deserves some of the blame for global warming. But so does living, really. The existence of any human requires them to follow the second law of thermodynamics. Nothing underscores the reactionary nature of ABC medicine than the way many of its lead jounos treat scientific process and are caught up in negativity and the desire to escape from it. The afternoon presenter on 774 wants to know whether the streets of Melbourne are " any worse" than before . Ecomia study tells you that biologically if you don't nip the problem in the bud - there is "no positive angle"

The witnesses tell her so, but she insists on researching the problem.This is where the sus science comes in - good label bad practice.
Dear ABC-- such "research" will tell you nothing but that the horse has bolted .Maybe your cureent affirs will go the way of the commercials - it is already a partial clone .

I have had a career in risk management and know as a scientist that once you leave university you need to apply yourself to prevention based on professional prediction skills that take lifetimes to develop .No use butting in with research if you don't use others first .
While some sectors of the ABC ignore the need for practical scientists to take up the talking Australias cringe factor over science and the passion for practical skill develeopment ( so much potentail ----but no the nurses and the doctors are leaving) will continue to wain.
Unconvinced about the problem , the fearmongers are so far from solutions that even if they convinced themselves of a target they shoot first and ask questions later. A good reason why the ABC is out of its depth and why we don't say anything until they are really doing good science.

Sweating on a successful conviction of "The Swindle " .
Robin Williams and Tony Jones conducted a panel review of the film "The Swindle" after ABC management insisted that Robin Williams stop worrying about whether the story should be put to air - since when have journos become to be guardians of science debate ? . It would have been in the ABC 's interest to let someone more objective run the discussion . Are we to assume then that certain well known sections of the ABC have became a fundamentalist church of scientological principles ( guardians of the moral code ) in its own right?
This could have been an ABC "night of nights" -instead it raised more questions than answers . It was nonethe less a most solemn and serious occassion in ABC church history . The panel for the affirmative were not identified, the subject of the debate(accusations against the film and the accused ) unstated and thus skirted around. ) Any unbelievers or members of the panel in doubt about the guilt of the opposition ( if there was one - there turned out to be 1 ; was only 1 of 8 ) weren't allowed to put questions or respond in kind . No, I am not talking about Keith Allen (in Robin Hood) --yes we are talking about the castle and what has just happened inside it .
Unlike the film , the over the hours wanderings skipped all around the key question ( is C02 implicated as the key componenet in global warming) A question the ABC accusers never properly put to the accussed never properly present .

All these journos had to do to shore up their water tight story was to have a panel of scientists talk ( like they did on the film ). 4 on each side .This basic reporting competency they did not fulfil. Even easier, if they were concerned about coverups ; All they had to do was to make sure they asked powerful questions and knew the answers to the key questions before they were put . Its even easier than you think when you have that sort of control position and you get to say whose talking , when and on what questions . It was nothing like a debate. Maybe ABCTV don't have such things anymore- !
So how many earth scientists were there on the panel - total of 1 and he was not cooperating with the chanting . And how many were on the affirmative side - the rest ?

What do we expect of our dear auntie - In a post modern age , as Phillip Adams reminds us that its OK according to him " we make up our own meaning"- even on science facts ; anyone it seems is entitled to talk about science and praxis - esp when they agree with the bloke who wants one side of the story to be heard.
Result - It was a discussion of lower than secondary school standard .
even if there was an adjudicator he didn't have the films question up frontthere to keep tham honest ( at least the film stuck to the question - "is CO2 the key problem in global warming?")

The sense of panic and fanaticism was obvious . Its the sort of panic that question controllers get when .... they haven't got all the arguments together . Like the poor science lawyers they are , R&T didn't know the answer to many related question before they were raised - -thus more questions than answers came from what might have been an ABC night of nights . -
Tony and Robin Williams had a powerful opportunity . They controlled the questions ; they had all the power ? To be convincing you have to be convincing . The show wasn't . Even the leaders got distracted from the debates premise .
Both leaders failed the first test of good debating - They failed to control the agenda , they got too involved in the subject themselves and they had no adjudicator .

Projecting ones's own sense of panic onto the agenda is less than convincing; The program of over 1 hour was not a process worthy of OUR public broadcaster whose responsibilities are to report others , not defend the once united faith of the old huddle.

Copyright . Buy one of these plastic pieces and leave it ON your neighbourhood foot path . It will be much more cost effective than the waves from a thousand washed up horror and gore movies .
Believe me, the neighbours will be converted on the spot- ready to follow you to the very next church service to chant "stop the hot, stop the rot ". They may not want to believe in global warning, but you know how it is -when they SEE the CO2 effect taking the things they love, they will want to meet in your house to buy more placebos- at least .
As mcluhan said its all real----- its on the TV or in your own backyard .
Fear does wonderful things too and pays well - (who cares if often just causes a direct diversion away from REAL problem solving)
Just remember - you will always have doubters "Could it is be hot ground?" "Incident radiation effects?"- You say "that's old technology " or we know about that " you can say ! "its not UFO's, because you can't see UFOs , so why would you believe in em !!!! " . .

How this rare and empehemeral molecule can absorb much radiation or have much of a role in reflection of heat is beyond description at the moment and yet People "believe in it " - they belive we must be doing something wrong by urning fossil fuels is more to the point Well are we ?. When this inadeqaute logic with c02 in focus hits home the investments in carbon trading will go where we know they are headed - unsustainable ideas and actions. The greenhouse effecthas got a bad name because it is not being discussed properly . Not well recognised amongst the secularists is a fear that they may be putting there trust in the lowest common denominator, when in reality there is something bigger and more dynamic that the mechanism they can see.

Take the reaction to those who make miracle claims. .
Struck by the fact that for me , ( and I think most of us ) the sense of miracle is very personal. A sort of wonderful thing in itself – a bit like the warmth in the pants effect ; not welcomed so much by others?
Nothing hits you when you have a sense of miracle than the difficulty of explaining it to others – after all its your experience ---at least in large measure . And we forget and doubt quite naturally; Also , if God is there he’s not out front in ways we desire.

The best examples I know of miracles are ones where the miracle happened to someone I know and I share a sense of wonder much greater than they do about all the coincidences .
One day I’ll put a few in writing.
BUT I am in a general sense of wonder that the one who could tweak the nuons and quarks should do it with such incredible precision as to be so personal. Is not the testimony of experience of humans that we are made our Creator’s image ? We love to create and if the determinist are right we are kidding ourselves completely.

Either way, I think , JUST like the blind man Jesus healed , most did not want to know .Despite being loud and getting lots of people to defend him and share his knowledge , the wider elements of audience wanted to shut him up . Somethings in the media are very predictable . The challenge is to avoid focusing on them alone ! After all the lowest common denominator is not good science either.

Remember too, that our secular prophets say we are in denial about determinism --and rightly so. – There is , in reality , a lot of things to wonder about ----- if you are prepared not to close the door of the mind / heart on them.
